Our chronic lack of sleep is becoming a public health crisis – confirming why sleep is the best medicine. It limits what’s going into your stress bucket and Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep, in particular, helps you to process negative thoughts.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to wake up after a good night’s sleep, feeling refreshed, motivated and ready to take on your day? Well, this is exactly what we’ve been designed to do….we didn’t even have to learn to do it; we did it easily as babies.
I see so many people taking medication to sleep to counteract the coffee they’ve been sipping all day to keep awake!
Also, why do we have to be really busy all the time? Going to bed early is not just for kids and lazy people, it’s essential for your mental and physical health.
And don’t get me started on Netflix binges and mindless scrolling through social media when we should really get ready for bed.
Seeing all this, I’m not surprised at all that we are in a sleep epidemic.
